Description

The Underground Utilities Estimator prepares accurate, competitive estimates for underground utility projects serving commercial and municipal clients in the St. Louis, MO market. Scope includes water, storm, and sanitary sewer systems, with coordination across earthwork and concrete. Role is full-time, on-site at the Weldon Springs, MO headquarters with occasional regional travel for site walks and pre-bid activities.

As our Estimator, you will own the full bidding process from start to finish. You will prepare detailed cost estimates and competitive bid proposals for underground utility construction projects while making sure every number is accurate, defensible, and built to win.

You will review drawings, specifications, and geotechnical reports to define project scope and set assumptions before a single dollar goes into the estimate. From there, you will run digital takeoffs and quantity calculations for pipe, structures, and related site work to make sure the details are right before bid day arrives.

On the subcontractor and vendor side, you will solicit, level, and scope quotes while tracking addenda and clarifications so nothing slips through the cracks. You will also attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to identify risks early and build mitigation strategies that make every bid stronger.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience:

• Proven experience leading bid review meetings and driving scope alignment across utilities, earthwork, and concrete disciplines.
• Established relationships with regional vendors and subcontractors, enabling competitive pricing and reliable execution partners.
• Strong knowledge of production rates, crew builds, and means and methods for trenching and shoring operations.
• Familiarity with DOT and municipal standards, as well as traffic control requirements for public and private infrastructure projects.
• Ability to develop alternate bids and value engineering options that provide clients with cost effective solutions without sacrificing quality.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Weldon Spring, MO.

The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $48.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Weldon Spring,MO.
