Overview

We are seeking a Quality Control Technician / Junior Quality Engineer to join a growing electronics and lighting manufacturing team. This role serves as a key partner to Manufacturing and Quality Engineering, focusing on incoming inspection, production quality, and process improvement initiatives.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer or quality professional looking to grow within a collaborative, hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform incoming inspection of purchased parts and subassemblies using defined criteria
• Conduct quality inspections and testing to ensure compliance with specifications
• Utilize inspection tools including:
  • Calipers
  • Micrometers
  • Height gages
  • Thread gages and pin gages
• Accurately document inspection results and maintain quality records
• Support root cause analysis (RCA) for production issues (scrap, rework, yield loss)
• Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to drive process improvements
• Maintain and update controlled documents, inspection templates, and quality records
• Assist with implementing SPC metrics and continuous improvement initiatives
• Provide recommendations to improve product quality and manufacturing processes

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
• 1 year of experience in manufacturing or quality control (internships/co-ops acceptable)
• Strong understanding of:
  • Quality control and inspection processes
  • Root cause analysis
• Experience using inspection tools and measurement equipment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in electronics or lighting manufacturing
• Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS)
• Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles
• Experience with SPC (Statistical Process Control)
• Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Stony Point, NY.

The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $60000.00/yr.
