Lab Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to process SPF chicken embryos, cell cultures, and microbial cultures, produce antigens and reagents, and prepare buffers, media, and solutions. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate internal documentation and performing various housekeeping activities.

Responsibilities

• Process SPF chicken embryos, cell cultures, and microbial cultures
• Produce antigens and reagents
• Prepare buffers, media, and solutions
• Complete internal documentation
• Perform housekeeping activities, including waste disposal and glassware preparation

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.)
• 1-2 years related experience and/or training
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted

Work Environment

The work environment includes a manufacturing setting with a start time of 7:30 am and an 8-hour shift with breaks. The job requires regular standing, handling objects, using a microscope, walking, and sitting. Employees must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and color vision. The work area can get hot at times.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
