Job Description

We are seeking to train an enthusiastic Environmental Field Technician who is eager to work on large agricultural and landfill projects. This role involves monitoring landfill gas wells and performing comprehensive environmental monitoring. The position requires travel around the Midwest, with 90% of the day spent outdoors. You will also be responsible for maintaining and servicing pumps on site. A company vehicle and per diem are provided during travel.

Responsibilities

• Monitor landfill gas wells and conduct environmental monitoring
• Perform routine wellfield balancing and maintenance
• Manage routine blower/flare operations
• Conduct field sampling at various test locations including wells, probes, headers, blowers, flares, and pumps
• Collect, evaluate, and interpret scientific data; communicate observations and technical data verbally and in writing with supervisors and clients
• Operate and maintain condensate management systems
• Record and maintain daily field logs, reporting data collected, field observations, actions taken, and recommended actions
• Work independently after completing training

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous environmental experience preferred but not required
• Comfortable working outdoors
• Ability to lift and push 50 lbs
• Willingness to travel 80% of the year
• Mechanical inclination is required
• Training will occur in Texas or Oklahoma

Work Environment

Candidates must meet physical requirements for driving a pickup truck, conducting inspections of improved and unimproved property, and lifting and carrying equipment/mechanical components (up to 50 lbs unassisted). The role involves hand excavation/digging using shovels and picks, carrying and climbing ladders, operating and working from man lifts, and using electric and hand tools under varying weather conditions. A per diem for meals ($55/day) is provided, and hotel accommodations are company-covered.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Overland Park, KS.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Overland Park,KS.
