Entry Level Controls Engineer

This role requires a skilled Controls Engineer to provide technical expertise in the General Assembly/Facilities Engineering department. The ideal candidate will enjoy hands-on work with machinery, analyzing and diagnosing electrical problems in a manufacturing environment. The position involves completing projects related to electrical controls and programming, with the ability to work independently while occasionally receiving guidance.

• Initiate control system design from a written sequence of operation.
• Engineer and design pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic piping diagrams.
• Design programmable logic controller (PLC) and human-machine interface (HMI) software.
• Tryout, debug, and provide start-up support for control systems.
• Provide technical support during the installation of tools and equipment.
• Offer technical support and training to plant personnel.
• Travel to plant sites as required.

• Proficiency with programmable machine controls hardware and software.
• Proficiency with Servo drive hardware and software.
• Proficiency with AutoCad.
• Familiarity with basic electrical and safety standards.
• Capability to supervise.

• High school diploma or equivalent with seven years of related work experience, or
• Associate's Degree in a technical field with four years of related experience, or
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering with internships in manufacturing, or
• Entry-level position with a Master's degree and a four-year college degree in a technical field.
• Openness to work all shifts and weekends.

The role involves a production/manufacturing environment (75%) and an engineering office (25%). The position is part of the General Assembly/Facilities engineering group, supporting departments such as General Assembly, Body Shop, and Paint. Safety attire, including safety glasses, high-visibility vests, and arm covers, must be worn at all times. Candidates should be open to rotating shifts every 3-6 months, with potential shifts including 1st (6:30 am-2:30 pm), 2nd (2:30-10:30 pm), and 3rd (9 pm-6:30 am).

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wentzville, MO.

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Wentzville,MO.
