Engineering Aide (AutoCAD Experience)

Overview

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and motivated Engineering Aide with strong AutoCAD skills to support our engineering team in the design, drafting, and documentation of technical projects. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys precision, problem‑solving, and working collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, update, and maintain AutoCAD drawings, including plans, sections, details, and schematics.
• Assist engineers with design development, layout preparation, and technical documentation.
• Perform cut measurements, data collection, and basic inspections as needed.
• Organize and maintain project files, drawing sets, and revision logs.
• Support the preparation of reports, presentations, and technical submittals.
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and other team members to ensure accurate and timely project deliverables.
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company standards.
• Provide general administrative and technical support to the engineering department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certificate or associate degree in drafting, engineering technology, or related field preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D required; 3D experience a plus).
• Familiarity with engineering drawings, drafting standards, and basic design principles.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Good organizational and time‑management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Willingness to learn new tools, software, and engineering processes.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

• Experience with additional CAD or modeling tools
• Prior experience in civil, mechanical, electrical, or structural engineering environments.
• Understanding of surveying, GIS, or field data collection methods.
• Knowledge of industry codes, standards, or drafting conventions.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Marianna, FL.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
