Overview
An innovative engineering organization specializing in advanced automated and tele-robotic systems for offshore and subsea applications is seeking an Electrical Technician to support an exciting new program. This role offers hands-on involvement in the assembly, testing, and installation of cutting-edge systems built entirely in-house.
You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to help deliver complex electrical systems consisting of intricate wiring, PCBs, and specialized power configurations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support electrical and electronic assembly based on approved drawings and schematics
- Interpret wiring and assembly diagrams.
- Perform hands-on product testing to ensure systems operate efficiently and meet performance requirements
- Assist with system integration and installation activities
- Troubleshoot electrical systems including power supplies, interconnects, and wiring issues
- Report defects, bugs, and performance issues to engineering staff
- Conduct soldering and minor rework when required on components or assemblies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Electrical, Mechanical, Software, and Project Management
- Monitor inventory levels and recommend procurement of parts as needed
- Contribute to developing practical, fit-for-purpose solutions aligned with engineering constraints
Required Qualifications
- College Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field
- 1–3 years of experience in:
- Electrical/electronic assembly in a production environment
- Working from technical drawings and schematics
- Troubleshooting electrical systems, including power supplies and interconnects
- Hands-on experience with cable routing, installation, and system integration
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with subsea systems or sensors (e.g., AUVs or similar environments)
- Exposure to electrical and/or mechanical system testing
- Familiarity with oscilloscopes and other electrical test equipment
- 2 years of experience using CAD software (electrical or mechanical)
- Knoweldge in Mechatronics or integrated systems engineering
