EHS Specialist

Job Description

• This position will provide specialized support to the Environmental, Health and Safety Department.
• Working closely with the EHS team and site operations, the position will primarily be responsible for maintaining waste management programs including hazardous, regulated medical, pharmaceutical, and other specialized wastes.
• EHS Inspections and PMs – Plan and execute Safety Preventative Maintenance and Inspections
• Waste Program Management – Manage the regulated and specialized waste program at the site.
• Work with warehouse personnel on the tracking and removal of specialized rejected products and materials.
• Regulatory Compliance/Reporting. Will oversee and maintain the Regulatory compliance matrix.
• Coordinate sampling of the wastewater
• PPE Program– Will perform safety inspections of PPE
• Emergency Response Team Coordinator – Assemble, Training and Maintain the site emergency response team
• Metric Tracking – Will be responsible for various EHS metric tracking
• Vendor Management – Coordinate and monitor external contractors involved with the removal of regulated and specialized waste streams.

Must Have

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental, Health, Safety)
• 2 years experience working in an Environmental, Health & Safety role
• Experience in Hazardous / Regulated Waste Management
• Must possess or obtain RCRA certification and DOT certification within 60 days of employment.

Nice to Have

• Previous pharmaceutical industry experience
• Experience working in a GMP environment
• EHS management systems experience (Enablon, Intelex, VelocityEHS, etc.)

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bedford, OH.

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $34.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Bedford,OH.
