You’ll lead complex detailing efforts, oversee and check the work of others, and collaborate closely with project management and shop teams to ensure high-quality, efficient fabrication.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed shop drawings for structural steel, miscellaneous metals, and plate weldments.
- Interpret complex construction documents and perform field verification and reverse engineering as needed.
- Develop submittals, respond to RFIs, and incorporate review comments into fabrication drawings.
- Coordinate detailing, documentation, and submittals throughout project lifecycles.
- Work closely with project managers and shop foremen to optimize shop and field productivity.
- Oversee, coordinate, and review work from internal team members and third-party detailers.
- Manage multiple deadlines with strong attention to detail and minimal supervision.
- Technical certificate or 4-year degree in a related field preferred.
- 8–10 years of experience in structural and miscellaneous metals detailing.
- Extensive knowledge of AISC standards, industrial codes, and symbols.
- Experience working in 3D detailing environments and related software.
