Job Description
Looking to hire an Electrical Engineer that has an interest and/or previous internship experience in the utilities industry.
This position is part of the Distribution Department, where you will design and review overhead and underground distribution lines ranging from 12.5 kV to 34.5 kV. You will engineer and design cable/conduit distribution work packages for new customer construction projects, ensuring that completed designs comply with quality and consistency standards.
Responsibilities
- Design and review overhead and underground distribution lines from 12.5 kV to 34 kV.
- Develop overhead and underground cable/conduit work packages.
- Design complex distribution projects in urban and rural environments in compliance with engineering and construction specifications.
- Coordinate small design teams to develop budgets, prepare scoping documents, design criteria, and project deliverables.
- Provide engineering assistance during construction and attend construction meetings, coordination efforts, and community outreach.
- Identify and initiate corrective actions when project objectives are not met.
- Interpret codes and regulations and develop standards for construction projects.
- Promote engineering professionalism and standards.
- Develop, recommend, and implement plans by establishing goals, objectives, and requirements for complex engineering projects.
- Travel up to 30% of the time to client sites.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Experience in utility distribution engineering.
- Experience with power distribution.
- Experience drafting/design in AutoCAD, overhead distribution, and underground utilities.
- Zero to two years of experience with electric utility distribution design projects.
- Zero to two years of experience in overhead, URD, re-conductoring, and asset replacement projects.
- Zero to two years of experience with complex distribution projects in urban and rural environments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
Work Environment
This position offers a remote work environment with a Monday through Friday schedule. You can choose between working hours of 7-3, 8-4, or 9-5. The role includes 3 weeks of paid time off.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Bellevue, WA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.65 - $36.06/hr.
