We are seeking a skilled Distribution Designer responsible for drafting pole replacement projects and creating comprehensive job packets. This position involves significant communication with line crews, supervisors, and shop clerks. Approximately 75% of the job consists of design work, alongside performing field visits and handling new customer orders. You will be tasked with working on new services and interacting with customers when in the field, as well as learning cost estimates.
Responsibilities- Draft pole replacement projects.

- Work on new services and engage with customers during field visits.
- Learn and understand cost estimation processes.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Experience with Distribution Design Software (DDS) is highly beneficial.
- Background in drafting and distribution design.
- Knowledge in power distribution, civil, and electrical engineering.
- Familiarity with Microstation and power delivery design.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline.
- 1-4 years of experience with AutoCAD and distribution design.
- High School Diploma or CAD Certification.
- Design experience from work or academic pursuits.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
This position is a staff augmentation role located on-site at FE/Penelec. The office environment includes a team of designers, line supervisors, and a planner/scheduler, working closely together. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with occasional overtime of up to 5 hours. Initially, the role will be a mix of field and office work, transitioning to a 50/50 split after 3-6 months. This opportunity provides a chance to support a large local utility and gain valuable experience alongside designers and engineers.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
