Job Title: Distribution Designer/Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking Junior to Mid-Level Distribution Designers/Engineers for utility-scale projects focused on distribution. This position will be based in our Downtown Orlando office and will contribute to our Distribution Team by supporting projects such as transformer replacements and retrofits. This is an open-ended contract position with benefits provided.
Responsibilities
- Support utility-scale distribution projects including transformer replacements and retrofits.
- Collaborate with the team on Transformer Retrofit and Reconductoring projects.
- Utilize proprietary software such as Maximo and BOUD for project tasks.
- Engage in design and drafting using AutoCAD and MicroStation.
- Ensure compliance with power delivery and utility design standards.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation.
- Experience in distribution design and electrical engineering.
- Knowledge of power delivery, utility design, and high voltage systems.
- Understanding of the power grid and its components.
- Strong communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 2 years of distribution design experience.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methods.
- Experience with drafting and GIS is a plus.
- Mechanical and construction knowledge is beneficial.
Work Environment
The Orlando office is a large, multidisciplinary engineering environment housing Architecture & Engineering, Electrical & Engineering, and Power departments. The Direct Power Team consists of about 10-12 people. The office is located in a beautiful building in downtown Orlando, across from Lake Eola, with parking included. The area offers numerous dining and entertainment options within walking distance. The company offers hybrid work flexibility, available to be earned, and provides ample growth opportunities.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orlando, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
