- Understanding of metal properties, material characterization, and refractory metal processing techniques.
- Contribution to research and development of new alloys and technologies.
Work involves real propulsion hardware, not simulations only. Engineers are involved in design, assembly, instrumentation, testing, troubleshooting, and reporting. There is no artificial wall between R&D, test, and systems. The company operates like a small entity, allowing for wearing multiple hats and significant growth potential. Engineers get exposure to high-pressure systems, high-temperature environments (2,000–3,000°F), energetic materials, and solid rocket propulsion. Work includes hydro, pneumatic, and hot gas testing. The role offers exposure to extreme, high-impact engineering, and the experience transfers well across aerospace and defense. The company culture is casual and engineering-driven, with monthly BBQs and an emphasis on hobbies and personality. Remote test sites are common, and the work schedule is flexible with longer days balanced by shorter ones. The company is growing, which means evolving processes and a generally positive attitude towards change.
