Job Title: Design Engineer

Job Description

This role performs advanced drafting and design work for marina and dock construction projects. The position involves producing accurate AutoCAD and SolidWorks drawings, developing standardized design blocks and details, and supporting engineering efforts to ensure consistency, quality, and constructability across all divisions.

Responsibilities

• Create construction and fabrication drawings per company standards and engineer specifications.
• Develop and maintain standardized AutoCAD dynamic blocks and engineered details such as pile guides, tri-frames, gangways, and dock layouts.
• Lead SolidWorks modeling for weldments, shop drawings, concepts, and engineering plans.
• Maintain a standardized BME component catalog to reduce repetitive design work.
• Provide engineering oversight of structural components while coordinating with divisions on production release drawings.
• Prepare flotation calculations and fabrication details to achieve required dock freeboard.
• Maintain complete project drawing records in both digital and hard copy formats.
• Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and departments to support project needs.
• Follow all safety policies and company procedures.

Essential Skills

• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of marine construction methods, materials, and standards.
• Ability to work within established templates and drafting standards.
• High attention to detail, reliability, and punctuality.
• Must pass a BG check and drug screening, with random testing required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical design, drafting, and CAD.
• Understanding of construction planning, building materials, structural design, structural steel, and structural welding.
• Ability to manage weldments, shop drawings, concepts, and engineering plans.

Work Environment

This position is based in an office environment. The role requires collaboration with various internal teams and departments to meet project requirements. The work involves adherence to safety policies and established company procedure

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL.

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $48.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Jacksonville,FL.
