Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

In this role, you will be designing and detailing sheet metal protection enclosures for machining centers and assisting the engineering department. You will manage approximately 5-6 projects at a time, handling both 2D and 3D design drawings and their detailing. The primary products you will work on include teleflex and sheet flex (roll-up metal covers). The broader product lines cover cable carriers (plastic and metal), slip clutches, ball screws (new and repair), molded elastomer components, aluminum roll-up doors, bellows and lift covers, steel covers (new and repair), way wipes, roll-up covers, and steel flex pit covers.

Responsibilities

• Design and detail sheet metal protection enclosures for machining centers.
• Manage 5-6 design projects simultaneously.
• Create and detail 2D and 3D design drawings.
• Work on products including teleflex and sheet flex (roll-up metal covers).
• Assist the engineering department with various design tasks.
• Handle product lines such as cable carriers, slip clutches, ball screws, molded elastomer components, aluminum roll-up doors, bellows and lift covers, steel covers, way wipes, roll-up covers, and steel flex pit covers.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 5 years of experience with Inventor.
• 3D design
• Inventor
• SolidWorks.
• Experience with weldments and sheet metal.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Ability to perform stress calculations and torque calculations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with both plastic and metal cable carriers.
• Knowledge of ball screws (new and repair).
• Familiarity with molded elastomer components and aluminum roll-up doors.

Work Environment

The engineering department consists of 20 individuals, with 11 in this specific team. During the first week, you will be assigned a mentor who will guide you through the systems, and help you access and release drawings to the floor. The company serves 5000 active customers at any given time.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $40.00/hr.
