Industrial Controls Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking experienced professionals to join our Cyber Security team as a Lead, Plant Cyber Security in support of a TRISO-X fuel fabrication facility. The position involves managing plant cyber security engineering, analysis, design, and drafting across various projects. The role includes directing the work of team members, managing resources, and assisting with the analysis of systems, structures, and components for advanced reactor technologies.
Responsibilities
- Support the execution of cyber security design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and project requirements.
- Manage the utilization of engineering resources across multiple projects, ensuring qualified engineers are performing assigned work.
- Lead design cycle sprints and provide direction to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality engineering work products on schedule and within budget.
- Manage cyber security engineering staff by ensuring staff are meeting expectations and promoting professional development.
- Influence and support the development of strategies, methodologies, and technical tools for the area of responsibility.
- Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, tools, or services.
- Support decision-making and handle complex tasks or problems in operations, product management, technology, or engineering.
- Assess the quality of information and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders.
- Perform work in accordance with design control procedures, ensuring thorough documentation, facilitation of design reviews, and control of product design configuration data.
- Review codes and standards and identify requirements and functions of cyber security systems.
- Evaluate vendor cyber security plans and concepts.
- Interface with company IT and customer IT organizations.
- Prepare cyber security specifications for stand-alone control systems connected with DCS or the internet.
- Prepare documentation for the implementation and performance of cyber security programs, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and behavior in all forms of communication.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Essential Skills
- 7 years of experience in cyber security engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical, Industrial, or related discipline from an ABET accredited program.
- Experience with Industrial Control Systems (ICS).
- Operational Technology experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Nuclear / DOE / NRC experience - exposure to nuclear facilities, fuel fabrication, or DOE projects.
- SCADA / DCS / I&C experience - hands-on work with plant control systems.
- Knowledge of Cybersecurity Standards - NIST CSF, IEC, NERC CIP, IEEE standards.
- Cybersecurity Certifications - CSSA, CISSP (especially with ICS focus).
- Knowledge of Federal requirements for cyber security for Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP).
- Basic understanding of nuclear engineering, licensing, regulatory, quality, and safety requirements.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $91.00/hr.
