Controls Systems Engineer

We are seeking a talented Controls Systems Engineer to develop electrification control solutions at both component and system levels for a broad range of applications using a model‑based design approach.

• Evaluate control designs through analysis, simulation, Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HIL) testing, laboratory testing, and field testing.
• Interface with stakeholders to develop control system requirements that support vehicle electrification solutions.
• Conduct electric drive and vehicle system simulations to support control system development and vehicle performance assessments.

• 1 or more years of experience in power electronics or control algorithm development.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, and Simscape.
• Experience simulating power electronics, electric machines, and/or control systems.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Relevant academic research experience will be equally considered.

• Hands-on laboratory or vehicle testing experience with power electronics or electric motors.
• Experience with Hardware-in-Loop testing.
• Experience with auto-code generation and embedded software implementation on microcontrollers and FPGAs.
• Working knowledge of version control and Agile software development.
• Experience with advanced research topics.
• Experience with power electronics hardware or software design.
• Experience with advanced control systems and techniques such as observers, model predictive control, filter design, etc.
• Experience with power electronics control and electric motor control.
• M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering with a focus on power electronics and/or control systems.

Work at the most advanced electronics lab, leveraging new and emerging technology. The position offers long-term stability, two weeks of paid time off, and six holidays. The development center provides an innovative and collaborative environment.

This is a Permanent position based out of Fargo, ND.

The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $45.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Fargo,ND.
