Job Description: Controls Engineer
We are seeking a talented Controls Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for developing and debugging software for custom assembly and inspection machinery, ensuring it aligns with standards and specifications. This role involves working with industrial PLCs, HMIs, and other related devices.
Responsibilities
- Develop and debug software for custom assembly and inspection machinery using templates and original code.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers, machine builders, machine technicians, and end users.
- Program and debug robotics for Fanuc, Omron Adept, ABB, and other similar products.
- Develop machine vision applications for Cognex Insight or Keyence XG, among other similar products.
- Program and debug servo motion, including single axis, multi-axis coordinated, camming, and gearing.
- Read and interpret controls and pneumatics schematics.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Computer Science (BSCS).
- 3-10 years of experience as a controls engineer in an automation setting.
- Experience programming and debugging PLCs and HMIs for automation equipment such as packaging machines, with medical device experience being a plus.
- Proficiency with one or more software packages such as Rockwell Automation Studio 5000, Siemens TIA Portal, Omron Sysmac Studio, or similar.
- Experience programming and debugging robotics for Fanuc, Omron Adept, ABB, or similar.
- Experience developing machine vision applications for Cognex Insight or Keyence XG, or similar.
- Experience programming and debugging servo motion, including single axis, multi-axis coordinated, camming, and gearing.
- Strong problem-solving skills, including process problem-solving and root cause analysis.
- Ability to read and interpret controls and pneumatics schematics.
This is a Permanent position based out of Belvidere, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
