Controls Engineer- Rockford, IL
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough evaluations to identify potential hazards in machinery, industrial processes, and workplaces.
- Design and implement safety control systems, including the use of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), automatic shut-off switches, and protective barriers.
- Ensure that systems comply with relevant national and international safety standards and regulations, such as those set by OSHA, ANSI, RIA, and ISO/EN.
- Validate that safety functions are working correctly and reliably through performance monitoring and scheduled proof testing.
- Provide consultation services, offering guidance on safety code compliance, machine guarding, and developing internal safety tools and systems.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in PLC programming and electrical systems.
- BS degree is required, with a preference for Engineering.
- 10 years of experience in the field.
- Knowledge of standards like ANSI B11 (Safety of Machinery), ANSI/ISA-84, and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockford, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
