Job Title: Controls Engineer

Job Description

Controls Engineer position responsible for performing a variety of mechanical and electrical engineering functions. The role supports the design and application of all pumping controls-related accessories, involving engineering duties such as calculations, CAD drafting, testing, and other technical functions.

Responsibilities

• Perform calculations and CAD drafting for design purposes.
• Support the design and application of pumping controls accessories.
• Design control panels including layout and general arrangements.
• Work with analog sensors and provide sales support.
• Engage in continuous process improvement.
• Program PLCs for effective control systems.
• Document processes effectively.
• Conduct testing and other technical functions.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD for plan changes.
• Understanding of UL 508 certification requirements.
• Experience in control panel design and analog sensors.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or similar engineering discipline, or an associate degree in electrical engineering with 3 years’ experience, or 10 years’ experience as an Electrical Controls Designer.
• Three to five years of experience in a technical manufacturing or similar environment.
• Proficiency in mechanical and electrical component design and application.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with centrifugal pumps is a plus.
• Ability to use MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel.
• Productivity with minimal supervision.
• Quick learning capability and ability to advance skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Work Environment

This role requires working onsite with 10%-15% travel to customers. The work involves using various software tools and participating in a collaborative team environment.

This is a Permanent position based out of Old Saybrook, CT.

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
