Controls Engineer II

The Controls Engineer is responsible for validating, correcting, and optimizing SCADA and EPMS systems during commissioning and post-deployment phases. This role requires hands-on experience in making corrections within SCADA platforms, troubleshooting system behavior, and ensuring solutions meet functional and operational requirements.

• Validate deployed SCADA and EPMS systems against specifications and customer requirements.
• Modify and correct configurations, logic, and system settings within SCADA platforms.
• Perform commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting of electrical power monitoring systems.
• Install, upgrade, and configure EPMS and SCADA software.
• Troubleshoot complex communication, networking, and device integration issues.
• Support HMI configuration and graphical screen development.
• Interpret contract documents, control narratives, and electrical drawings.
• Provide technical guidance to Level I engineers.
• Interface directly with customers, contractors, and internal teams.
• Deliver customer training on commissioned systems.
• Maintain detailed as-built documentation and commissioning records.

• Hands-on experience with SCADA systems.
• 3–5 years of experience with SCADA commissioning and EPMS systems.
• Proven experience modifying SCADA configurations and correcting system logic.
• Proficiency with communication protocols such as Modbus, IEC, RS485, and BACnet.
• Solid networking knowledge including IP addressing, architectures, and device communications.
• Experience with programming/scripting concepts and databases, SQL preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with Power Monitoring Expert, Power SCADA Expert, and Inductive Ignition is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 75%.

The role requires up to 75% travel. Training will be conducted remotely for 6 weeks prior to being on-site.

This is a Permanent position based out of Dallas, TX.

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
