What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controls Construction Manager position at Actalent?
This role involves overseeing our Technician workforce responsible for control systems, while ensuring excellent customer service for both internal and external clients. You will leverage your expertise in HVAC systems, control devices, computer operations, electronics, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, direct digital controls, airflow, hydronic systems, IT networking, analytics, and building controls technologies.
Responsibilities- Develop strategies with the Operations Leadership Team to capture and retain market share.
- Act as the direct customer contact, ensuring satisfaction by listening to concerns, implementing corrective actions, and communicating resolutions.
- Communicate effectively with building owners, mechanical contractors, subcontractors, and field support staff.
- Mentor a diverse team of Controls Technicians and Controls Application Engineers to deliver the highest value.
- Create and maintain development plans to ensure a safe and well-trained workforce capable of executing projects.
- Perform regular quality checks on Technicians’ work and address any deficiencies in quality or knowledge.
- Coordinate construction activities, including labor scheduling and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and subcontractors.
- Manage resource allocation, staffing, and capacity planning for efficient operations.
- Coordinate with Project Managers to track progress on construction projects.
- Schedule labor as needed for business planning.
- Conduct monthly 1-1 meetings with direct reports to provide feedback and coaching.
- Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and foster professional growth and development among team members.
- Assist Project Managers with planning, execution, and delivery of projects while adhering to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Stay current on all product lines and software solutions used by the company.
- Continuously evaluate and improve processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance productivity, quality, and innovation.
- Demonstrate expertise in HVAC controls systems design and commissioning.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration, resolve design challenges, and manage multiple concurrent projects.
- Expertise in HVAC systems and controls.
- Proficiency in electronics and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of IT networking and building controls technologies.
- Experience in project management and resource allocation.
- Experience with Siemens control systems.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Ability to manage customer relationships and ensure satisfaction.
- Ability to improve processes and methodologies continuously.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
