Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Construction Materials Technician to conduct material sampling and testing of soils, aggregates, asphalt concrete, and concrete during placement on active construction sites. Your role will involve interpreting project specifications and working drawings, performing field inspections, and ensuring the proper use and maintenance of equipment on assigned projects.
Responsibilities
- Conduct material sampling and testing of soils, aggregates, asphalt concrete, and concrete.
- Interpret project specifications and working drawings.
- Perform field inspections, testing, and sampling.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment on assigned projects.
- Accurately record field data in an organized manner as required by project plans and specifications.
- Generate and compile comprehensive field reports using MetaField or similar reporting tools.
- Document daily installed construction quantities.
- Communicate effectively with on-site team members, including contractors and owner representatives.
- Maintain open and timely communication with all relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure the proper maintenance of assigned vehicles and equipment.
- Adhere strictly to all public health and safety requirements and established safety procedures.
Essential Skills
- 3 plus years of material testing experience.
- Clean driving record.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- ACI/MCA Concrete Level I Concrete Field Testing Technician Certification.
- MDOT Density Control Certification.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dearborn, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
