Description
Our client in Edmonton, AB is looking for a Concrete/Civil QAQC Inspector to support on-site quality inspections. This role will focus on rebar, pre/post pour inspections, and concrete curing activities. They are looking for candidates with strong hands-on exposure to concrete foundation inspection for a 5 month contract with potential to extend.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform on-site in-process QC inspections in line with IFC drawings, specs, and CSA standards
- Conduct pre-pour inspections:
- Rebar
- Formwork
- Oversee concrete placement and finishing
- Monitor concrete curing (hot & cold weather requirements)
- Complete post-pour inspections (defects, finishing quality)
- Coordinate with 3rd party testing agencies when required
- Track non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective actions
- Complete QC documentation:
- Inspection reports
- Drawing sign-offs
MUST HAVES:
- 2 years experience in concrete foundation QC inspection:
- Pre-pour, placement, and post-pour inspections
- Concrete curing and temperature monitoring, finishing, survey and backfill
- Rebar inspection (must be field-based, not just lab/testing)
- Strong understanding of:
- CSA A23.1 (concrete standards)
- Concrete inspection and testing practices
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings/specifications
- Track non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective actions
- CSTS certification
- MS Office (Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
NICE TO HAVES:
- Industrial project experience
- Experience coordinating 3rd party testing agencies
- Exposure to survey/backfill activities
- Open to junior candidates with strong fundamentals
