Job Description
The Concrete Foreman/Asst. Superintendent oversees on-site construction activities with a strong focus on safety, quality, and schedule. This on-site role coordinates daily operations, manages subcontractors, and ensures that all work meets project specifications and standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day construction activities on site to ensure work progresses safely, efficiently, and according to plan.
- Oversee and enforce safety protocols on site, ensuring all personnel follow established safety procedures and practices.
- Coordinate and supervise concrete and masonry work, ensuring it meets project specifications and quality standards.
- Review, manage, and track change orders, ensuring all scope changes are properly documented and communicated.
- Prepare and maintain 2-week look-ahead schedules to plan upcoming work and align resources and subcontractors.
- Conduct and review Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate controls.
- Communicate regularly with project stakeholders to report progress, address issues, and support timely decision-making.
- Monitor work quality and compliance with project plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Identify and resolve on-site issues or conflicts to minimize delays and maintain project momentum.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience managing construction activities in an on-site role.
- Strong knowledge of concrete construction practices and standards.
- Strong knowledge of masonry construction practices and standards.
- Experience reviewing and managing change orders on construction projects.
- Ability to prepare and maintain 2-week look-ahead schedules.
- Experience creating and reviewing Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
- Solid understanding of construction site safety practices and regulations.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills for managing multiple on-site activities.
- Effective communication skills for working with subcontractors, field staff, and project stakeholders.

Work Environment
This is a fully on-site role based at an active construction site. The Construction Manager works primarily in the field, closely overseeing concrete and masonry operations and coordinating with trades and site personnel. The environment includes exposure to outdoor weather conditions, construction equipment, and typical jobsite noise and activity. The role requires adherence to all site safety protocols and the use of appropriate personal protective equipment as required by jobsite conditions.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jersey City, NJ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
