Job Description: Complaint Remediation Quality Technician
The Complaint Remediation Quality Technician executes targeted product complaint remediation activities within a regulated environment. This role focuses on retrospective complaint investigations, updating and revising complaint documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with internal quality standards and external regulatory expectations, particularly in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
Responsibilities
- Review and remediate historical product complaints to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with current regulatory and internal quality standards.
- Conduct retrospective investigations using historical records, sample evaluations, image reviews, and trend analyses to fully understand complaint history and context.
- Analyze updated investigation findings to confirm accurate root cause determination and prepare clear, concise complaint updates based on the results.
- Prepare and revise complaint records, including investigation summaries, data analysis, closure statements, and remediation justifications.
- Apply updated procedural guidelines to identify complaints requiring escalation based on trend analysis and reclassification outcomes.
- Initiate or support Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR), or Health Hazard Evaluations (HHE) when required by investigation findings or complaint trends.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to gather necessary information, align on remediation actions, and ensure timely closure of complaint records.
- Manage multiple complaint remediation tasks simultaneously while meeting critical deadlines and maintaining high documentation quality.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree and 2 years of demonstrated experience handling product complaints in a Quality role within the medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
- At least 2 years of experience with product complaint remediation efforts in a regulated industry.
- Experience supporting activities associated with or responding to FDA and ISO findings.
- Experience using SAP or similar complaint investigation or quality management software.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities with a high level of attention to detail.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks under critical deadlines.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply quality procedures and regulatory requirements in complaint handling.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- More than 2 years of experience with product complaint remediation efforts in a regulated industry is preferred.
- Prior experience working in a highly regulated medical device or pharmaceutical environment.
- Familiarity with CAPA, SCAR, and HHE processes and their application in complaint remediation.
- Experience performing complaint analysis and trend analysis to identify systemic issues.
- Ability to clearly document investigation results and remediation justifications in a structured, audit-ready format.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting investigations and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
This is a Contract position based out of Libertyville, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr.
