This part-time Clinical Research Dietitian role offers the opportunity to support participants in a lifestyle-focused clinical research study based in Raleigh. You will guide randomized patients through structured lifestyle management protocols, develop individualized nutrition and exercise goals, and educate them on accurately tracking physical activity and food intake using study-provided materials. Working within clearly defined inclusion and exclusion criteria, you will help determine participant eligibility and contribute to the integrity and success of the research.
Responsibilities- Work with randomized study participants as they receive lifestyle management standard operating procedures at 12-week intervals during the study.
- Develop individualized diet and exercise goals that align with the lifestyle protocol and clinical research requirements.
- Teach participants how to accurately capture and record physical activity and food intake using study-provided materials and tools.
- Ensure participant adherence to lifestyle protocols through ongoing guidance, education, and reinforcement of study requirements.
- Assess and document participant progress at scheduled intervals, providing feedback and adjustments to goals as needed.
- Apply study inclusion and exclusion criteria to determine whether patients are eligible to participate in the research.
- Collaborate with the clinical research team to support protocol compliance and high-quality data collection.
- Interact with principal investigators (PI) and clinical research associates (CRAs) as needed to discuss participant status, protocol questions, and study updates.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in accordance with clinical research standards and study protocols.
- Uphold Good Clinical Practice principles and ethical standards in all participant interactions and study-related activities.
- Active North Carolina license as a registered dietitian.
- Demonstrated experience in nutrition counseling and health education.
- Ability to develop and implement individualized diet and exercise plans aligned with clinical protocols.
- Knowledge of clinical research processes and protocol-driven patient management.
- Strong communication skills to clearly explain lifestyle changes, tracking methods, and study requirements to participants.
- Ability to teach and coach participants in recording physical activity and dietary intake accurately.
- Attention to detail when applying inclusion and exclusion criteria for participant eligibility.
- Capability to work independently in a part-time capacity while coordinating effectively with a research team.
- Registered Dietitian credential with eligibility to practice in North Carolina.
- Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification is preferred; training can be provided.
- Experience working in a clinical research setting or with structured lifestyle intervention programs is beneficial.
- Familiarity with documentation standards and regulatory expectations in clinical research.
- Comfort interacting with principal investigators and clinical research associates in a professional research environment.
- Interest in building long-term experience in clinical research within a large site management organization.
This is an on-site, part-time position based in Raleigh, North Carolina, with an expected workload of approximately 10–15 hours per week. The role is performed at a clinical research facility with a flexible schedule, allowing some adaptability in working hours while still meeting study visit and protocol requirements. You will work in a professional healthcare and research environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and using study-provided materials and tools to support participant education and data collection. The setting is designed to support long-term clinical research activities and offers the opportunity to gain substantial experience working within a large, established research infrastructure.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $50.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
