As a Contracts Manager, you will expertly review and approve clinical trial and related agreements, ensuring they meet applicable regulations and academic requirements. You will provide leadership by offering timely and effective guidance on negotiation strategies and industry best practices.
Responsibilities- Coordinate with the Office of General Counsel, Office of Risk Management, and Office of Research Commercialization, meeting regularly to review agreements and business decision issues.
- Independently manage the review, interpretation, negotiation, and processing of clinical trial, nondisclosure, and associated contracts from a legal, business, and technical perspective.
- Develop negotiation strategies, draft, and negotiate contracts that comply with organizational policies, and initiate and participate in meetings and teleconferences as needed.
- Manage stakeholder relations with timely and professional updates on contract status, identifying, evaluating, and resolving contract matters.
- Oversee contract administration, ensuring the validity, completeness, and accuracy of contract packages and maintaining complete electronic contract files and negotiation history.
- Collaborate with the finance team and other internal stakeholders to verify budgets and ensure the delivery of fully executed contracts to support timely study start-up.
- Distribute work order documents to participating health system sites upon Scientific Review Board approval of clinical trials.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in clinical and research contract management, ensuring compliance with all policies.
- Update project dashboards in OnCore® regarding project contracts and site contract status.
- Actively participate in department committees and performance improvement activities, attending 80-90% of staff/committee meetings unless excused or off duty.
- Attend training programs, workshops, and seminars to stay updated on project objectives.
- Experience in negotiating industry-sponsored and non-industry sponsored clinical trials.
- Extensive background in regulations governing clinical research.
- Strong understanding of policies and practices governing clinical research within large institutions.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
- Ability to communicate complex information effectively to all levels of staff, management, and external partners.
- Proven ability to work well across functions and cultures within an organization.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of handling significant responsibility and shifting priorities.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a commitment to exceeding standards and expectations.
- Experience with reviewing, editing, and negotiating contracts.
- Sponsor interaction experience.
- A passion for excellent customer service and a commitment to supporting the organizational vision.
The team consists of 8 Contract Managers, each managing 40-100 contracts. The expected SLA turnaround time is 30 business days, with a median of 60 days and a maximum of 90 days. The organization is recognized as Best in Class in the Big10 for Contracts.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $48.00 - $61.00/hr.
