Job Title: Civil Designer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Civil Designer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will support the planning, design, and development of civil engineering projects across public infrastructure and private development sectors. Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed civil design drawings and plans for site development, grading, drainage, utilities, and roadway projects.
• Assist engineers in developing construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Perform calculations related to earthwork, stormwater management, and utility systems.
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and other design software to produce high-quality deliverables.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, surveyors, and other team members to ensure design accuracy and compliance.
• Review and revise drawings based on feedback from engineers and clients.
• Maintain project documentation and adhere to company and industry standards.

Essential Skills

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Drafting Technology, or a related field.
• 2 years of experience in civil design or drafting.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and construction practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with stormwater modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, HydroCAD).
• Familiarity with local, state, and federal design standards and permitting processes.
• Knowledge of land development and municipal infrastructure projects.

The work environment is an in-office setting with six other team members, fostering a close-knit family atmosphere that offers opportunities for growth.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Morgantown, West Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
