Job Title: Civil 3D Drafter
Job Description
This role focuses on setting up and drafting electrical engineering projects in Autodesk Civil 3D for roadway, airfield, and general electrical site plans. You will create detailed 2D and 3D electrical models, support project engineers throughout the project lifecycle, and help ensure drawings meet established standards while delivering exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Set up new electrical engineering projects in Autodesk Civil 3D for roadway, airfield, and general electrical site plans.
- Draft electrical designs for lighting, power, and technology/communications/low voltage systems using Civil 3D Structures and Pipe Networks.
- Develop and maintain accurate 2D and 3D electrical model plans that support horizontal construction projects.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues within the Civil 3D model as projects progress toward completion.
- Collaborate closely with project engineers to ensure plans are accurate, constructible, and delivered on schedule.
- Apply and follow established electrical and client-specific drafting standards to produce neat, clean, and visually appealing drawings.
- Support utility layout and pipe network modeling to align with project requirements and design intent.
- Provide a high level of service to project teams and clients, building trust through consistent quality and responsiveness.
Essential Skills
- At least 2 years of experience in Civil 3D drafting for electrical utilities.
- Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D, including Structures and Pipe Networks.
- Experience drafting electrical designs for lighting, power, and low voltage/technology/communications systems.
- Ability to produce accurate 2D and 3D electrical model plans for roadway, airfield, and general electrical site projects.
- Strong understanding of utility layout and pipe network drafting within Civil 3D.
- Ability to follow and apply electrical and client-specific drafting standards.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on producing clean and visually clear drawings.
- Ability to work closely and effectively with project engineers and project teams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with MicroStation is a plus.
- Experience with ProjectWise is a plus.
- Experience working on horizontal construction projects such as roadways, airfields, and site development is beneficial.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent client service and building trust through high-quality work.
Work Environment
This position is fully in-office and based in a growing design team environment. You will work alongside a small, collaborative group of drafters and engineers on a variety of horizontal construction projects, including roadway, airfield, and general electrical site plans. The team has a strong backlog of work and continues to win new projects, including work for transportation and aviation sectors. Daily work centers around Autodesk Civil 3D, with opportunities to interact with tools such as MicroStation and ProjectWise. The setting is professional and project-focused, with close coordination among team members to meet deadlines and maintain high drafting standards.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Denver, CO.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
