Chemistry Lab Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated Chemistry Lab Assistant to support our team of analysts, primarily within the RTL group. This role involves maintaining the laboratory's cleanliness and organization, managing inventory, and preparing minor solutions and reagents. Your efforts will ensure our analysts can focus on product testing.

Responsibilities

• Assist analysts by maintaining laboratory cleanliness, including taking out trash and cleaning labs.
• Manage and redistribute glassware, ensuring it is clean and ready for use.
• Handle inventory management for disposable items.
• Prepare minor solutions and reagents, including weighing on a balance and performing pH tests.
• Perform any additional tasks to support analysts' efficiency.
• Operate laboratory equipment such as dishwashers and pipette washers for cleaning glassware.

• Experience in life sciences and laboratory settings.
• Proficient in handling chemistry glassware, including pipettes, graduated cylinders, beakers, and flasks.
• Possession of a Life Science Degree.

• Desire to advance within the team.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, suitable for individuals with backgrounds in retail, restaurants, manual labor, or farming.

This position operates within a lab environment, with one-third of the time dedicated to glassware washing in a specialized lab, and two-thirds in chemistry labs for collecting, washing, and distributing glassware. The role requires working independently with limited supervision, and candidates are expected to perform daily tasks without direct oversight.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kalamazoo, MI.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
