Chemical Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Chemical Engineer to interface with customers, understand their needs and project goals, and develop comprehensive scopes of work. You will be responsible for crafting technical solutions utilizing existing systems to achieve desired outcomes. In this role, you will participate in design validation, including pilot plant equipment and laboratory testing, and develop process improvement strategies based on laboratory data.

Responsibilities

• Interface with customers to understand project needs and develop a scope of work.
• Collaborate with team members to develop technical solutions for customer issues.
• Design pilot plant test plans and develop processing equipment.
• Work with pilot plant technicians and chemists to perform system testing.
• Conduct heat and mass balance, hydraulic calculations, and determine optimal equipment.
• Interpret technical data for proposals and cost estimation.
• Manage projects from initiation to completion, including vendor negotiations and equipment procurement.
• Prepare material cost estimates for thermal systems.
• Provide technical support and information throughout the project life cycle.

• Proficiency in chemical engineering.
• Experience with heat mass balance (HMB) and piping and instrument diagrams (P&ID).
• Experience in high volume liquid throughput processes.
• Knowledge of evaporator, crystallizer, ion exchange, membrane exchange, membrane filtration, desalination, and zero liquid discharge systems.

• Strong understanding of turbines, pumps, and flow rates.
• Experience working in a similar R&D environment.
• Ability to tackle complex projects with creativity and technical aptitude.

You will work on-site daily at our R&D facility, engaging with customers, vendors, engineers, chemists, and lab technicians. You will be part of a dynamic team, collaborating across all levels of the organization. The role offers a flexible Monday through Friday schedule, typically starting between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m., with a 40 to 45-hour workweek. Occasionally, additional hours may be required to meet project deadlines or address urgent issues.

This is a Permanent position based out of Hartland, Wisconsin.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
