We are seeking a skilled CAN Automation Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and upgrading internal software tools used in automotive networking projects. This role requires a deep understanding of CAN networks, automotive communication standards, and the ability to automate and enhance existing workflows.
Responsibilities- Develop, maintain, and upgrade internal software tools for automotive networking projects.
- Write and modify code using VBA, C#, and Python.
- Understand existing tools, improve, or replace them as needed.
- Automate manual or outdated processes while preserving existing workflows where appropriate.
- Create and maintain tools that support CAN tables, Gateway tables, and automotive network data processing.
- Deliver desktop-based internal applications, primarily using C# and WPF.
- Produce clear documentation for source code and tool usage.
- Ensure all developed source code is owned internally.
- Use Git for version control and source management.
- Strong understanding of CAN networks and automotive CAN.
- Familiarity with Ethernet communication on the vehicle bus.
- Experience supporting mixed environments with older hardware and newer architectures.
- Understanding of AUTOSAR ARXML and familiarity with ARXML concepts such as signals, clusters, and PDUs.
- Experience in developing internal tools, rather than customer-facing products.
- 1–5 years of experience (3–5 years preferred) in automotive networking and internal application development.
- Experience with C#, WPF desktop applications, and GUI-based tools or advanced Excel macros.
- Comfortable working independently and does not need to work closely with other coders.
- Curious and willing to dig into existing tools to understand how they work.
- Knowledge of CAN, Ethernet, and automotive communication standards.
This position is onsite in a manufacturing environment. The role involves working independently, and a strong ability to navigate legacy processes and tools is essential. The dress code is professional, and the work involves using technologies such as C#, VBA, and WPF.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
