Job Title: CAD Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CAD Technician to create detailed drawings, plans, and profiles for civil engineering projects, including residential, commercial, subdivisions, drainage systems, water/sewer layouts, and site grading. The ideal candidate will convert rough sketches and specifications into precise CAD-based plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D and collaborate with engineers and surveyors to understand project scope and design requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed drawings, plans, and profiles for a variety of civil engineering projects.
• Convert sketches and specifications into CAD-based plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Collaborate with engineers and surveyors to understand and fulfill project design requirements.
• Perform calculations for materials, dimensions, and costs and assist in preparing estimates and bid documents.
• Ensure compliance of drawings with NJDEP, municipal codes, and other regulatory standards.
• Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and project documentation.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• At least 3 years of experience in civil drafting/design.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and legal descriptions.
• Experience with stormwater management, grading, and utility design.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in CAD drafting for civil survey projects is a plus.
• Knowledge of topographic surveys, site layouts, and environmental permitting.

Work Environment

A collaborative office environment with a team of 15 people ensures that you won't get lost in the crowd. The office offers flexible work hours, including summer hours allowing employees to take Fridays off if 40 hours are completed by Thursday. After onboarding, a hybrid schedule is available, allowing for 3 days onsite and 2 days remote work. Enjoy benefits such as time and a half pay for overtime, 10 holidays plus 1 float day, office closure between Christmas and New Year's Day.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
