Job Description

The CAD Drafter will be responsible for drafting precise technical drawings and 3D models for residential, restaurant, and retail build-outs, with a focus on custom millwork such as cabinets, counters, built-ins, and moldings. The role involves collaborating with design and production teams to ensure accuracy and feasibility, interpreting project specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and preparing and revising shop drawings.

Responsibilities

• Produce precise technical drawings, shop drawings, and 3D models for custom millwork, casework, cabinetry, and fixtures using AutoCAD.
• Assist in identifying material requirements and coordinating with vendors as needed.
• Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure accuracy and feasibility.
• Interpret project specifications and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Prepare and revise shop drawings.

Essential Skills

• Proficient in AutoCAD and 3D modeling tools such as SketchUp or SolidWorks.
• Strong understanding of millwork, joinery, and woodworking techniques.
• Ability to read and create architectural blueprints and detailed drawings.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities with keen attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 3 years of drafting experience in architectural or millwork.
• Experience in millwork drafting or engineering is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or relevant technical certification in architecture, engineering, or a related field is a plus.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position within a casual environment, where you will be part of a team of 8 designers. The production warehouse is attached to the workspace, located in the tri-state area. The majority of the work will involve projects for establishments like Starbucks and retail outlets such as Bloomingdales. The role includes reporting to the VP of Millwork.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Westbury, NY.

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Westbury,NY.
