Cad Designer

We are seeking a motivated CAD Designer / Mechanical Design Technician to join our Engineering team. This position is open to individuals ranging from recent graduates with a 2-year degree in CAD, Drafting, Mechanical Design, or Engineering Technology to experienced CAD designers looking to advance their careers in product design and manufacturing.

• Create and revise 3D models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
• Develop detailed parts, weldment, and assembly drawings.
• Create and maintain Bills of Material for new product development and product improvements.
• Support manufacturing by resolving design and drawing issues.
• Collaborate effectively with Engineering, Production, Purchasing, Sales, and Customer Service teams.
• Create installation instructions and technical documentation.
• Assist with prototype fabrication, testing, and product validation.
• Participate in continuous product improvement and cost-reduction projects.

• Experience in Design and Drafting.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Ability to read and create manufacturing drawings.
• Understanding of fabrication, welding, machining, and sheet metal manufacturing.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and solve problems.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Associate degree in CAD Drafting, Mechanical Design, Engineering Technology, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
• SolidWorks Sheet Metal experience.
• Knowledge of Weldments.
• Experience in BOM creation.
• Product testing and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes.

The work environment involves collaboration with various departments, including Engineering, Production, Purchasing, Sales, and Customer Service. The role may include assisting with prototype fabrication, testing, and product validation, while focusing on continuous product improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.

This is a Permanent position based out of Spring Valley, MN.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
