Electrical Development Engineer - Battery Management
Job Description
We are seeking a talented and experienced Battery Management Engineer to join our team. In this full-time role, you will play a critical part in designing, developing, and validating electronic systems that monitor, control, and protect battery packs in electric vehicles or energy storage systems. Your work will help ensure the safety, efficiency, and compliance of these systems.
Responsibilities
- Design BMS hardware, including sensor interfaces, protection circuits, and communication protocols (CAN/LIN).
- Develop algorithms to estimate state-of-charge (SOC), state-of-health (SOH), and manage cell balancing.
- Perform hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, software validation, and system integration testing.
- Ensure battery packs meet safety standards, including overcharge and over-temperature protection.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and thermal engineers to optimize pack performance.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or similar fields.
- Proficiency in C/C for embedded systems, MATLAB/Simulink for simulation, and PCB design.
- 4–8 years of experience in BMS development or related automotive/power electronics fields.
- Strong understanding of Lithium-ion cell behavior, power electronics, and data analysis.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with thermal system design.
- Experience in the design, development, testing, and integration of battery and battery management systems into mobile applications.
- Experience with rectifiers, inverters, power control systems, and chargers.
- Experience in the automotive, construction, and agricultural industries.
- Understanding of the thermal side and cooling systems for battery development.
Work Environment
The role requires working onsite 3 days a week after an initial period of 5 days a week for the first 3 months. Our office environment is modern, with a new state-of-the-art building set to be completed in November 2025. This position offers a flexible work policy after the initial period.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $180000.00/yr.
