Job Title: Architectural Drafter / Staff Designer (3-Month Contract)

Job Description

This 3‑month contract Architectural Drafter / Staff Designer role provides temporary coverage for active healthcare and commercial office architectural projects. You will focus heavily on production work, using Revit to create and modify construction documents, incorporate redlines, and support project teams through all phases of design and documentation. The position requires strong Revit skills, the ability to contribute immediately with minimal ramp‑up time, and a comfort level working in a fast-paced architectural production environment. There is potential for extension and longer-term opportunities based on workload and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Produce and update detailed architectural drawings and documentation using Revit for healthcare and commercial office projects.
  • Support project teams through all phases of design and documentation, from early design through construction documents.
  • Develop, modify, and maintain complete drawing sets based on evolving project requirements.
  • Incorporate architect and project manager markups, redlines, and design revisions accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist in preparing construction documents, permit documents, and other project deliverables.
  • Coordinate closely with internal project team members to ensure consistency and accuracy across all drawings and documents.
  • Provide general drafting and production support for multiple ongoing projects as needed.
  • Work within an architectural firm’s production environment, adhering to established standards, templates, and workflows.
  • Contribute immediately with minimal training, maintaining high productivity and attention to detail throughout the contract period.

Essential Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Revit with the ability to work independently in a production environment.
  • Experience producing architectural construction documents.
  • Experience working within an architectural firm’s production setting, ideally on healthcare or commercial projects.
  • Ability to accurately incorporate design revisions, redlines, and markups from architects and project managers.
  • Degree in Architecture or a closely related field.
  • Ability to work onsite five days per week.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal project teams.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 3–4 years of architectural experience, preferably in a professional firm setting.
  • Healthcare architecture project experience.
  • Commercial office project experience.
  • Experience supporting architects and project managers with design and documentation tasks.
  • Experience in commercial construction and architectural design environments.
  • Openness to candidates who are recent architecture graduates, candidates with multiple architectural internships and 0–1 year of professional experience, and junior designers with strong Revit skills.
  • Ability to hit the ground running with little to no ramp‑up time in a coverage assignment.

Work Environment

This role is 100% onsite in a professional architectural office environment. You will work closely with architects, project managers, and other design team members, using Revit and standard architectural production tools on a daily basis. The schedule runs Monday through Thursday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM and Friday from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM, offering a concentrated workweek. The environment is highly production-focused, with clear standards and processes to support efficient document creation and coordination. This setting is well-suited for individuals who enjoy collaborative project work, clear structure, and the opportunity to contribute quickly to active healthcare and commercial office projects.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
