Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Animal Technician to join our team. The role requires working from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, starting as soon as possible for a duration of 26 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Perform animal husbandry tasks including feeding, watering, and providing appropriate bedding.
• Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of animal cages and enclosures.
• Handle animals safely and humanely as part of routine care and research protocols.
• Document and maintain accurate records of animal care and any deviations from standard procedures.
• Adhere to Environmental Health and Safety procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment.

Essential Skills

• Graduation from high school or GED.
• Completion of training equivalent to the Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician certification of the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS).
• Minimum of one year of animal care experience.
• Strong knowledge and abilities essential for successful performance in animal care duties.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with biomedical research and animal models of disease.
• Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician (ALAT) certification.
• California Driving License.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-throughput, dynamic, and physically demanding environment.
• Ability to collaborate efficiently with team members.

Work Environment

The role is based in a laboratory environment within a Vivarium. The position involves following Standard Operating Procedures and requires wearing Personal Protective Equipment as necessary.

This is a Contract position based out of San Francisco, CA.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in San Francisco,CA.
