Job Title: Senior Environmental Engineer
Job Description
As a Senior Environmental Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing air permit applications and compliance reports, evaluating facility emissions, performing air dispersion modeling, overseeing facility environmental regulatory audits, and managing compliance with various environmental regulations. You will also be involved in managing stormwater discharge monitoring, hazardous waste disposal, and liaising with subcontractors to ensure project completion. This role offers an opportunity to be in a management position early in your career, with significant client exposure and autonomy.
Responsibilities
- Prepare air permit applications and compliance reports using the US EPA’s electronic Greenhouse Gas Reporting Tool (e-GGRT).
- Evaluate facility emissions for compliance with Area Source, State Facility, and Title V classifications and generate Annual Emission Statements.
- Perform air dispersion modeling using US EPA-approved programs such as AERMOD.
- Oversee facility environmental regulatory audits and emissions performance testing, including boiler efficiency testing, cooling tower compliance, stack testing, and US EPA visual opacity (Method 9) testing.
- Prepare NOx monitoring and compliance plans, and recommend equipment or plant modifications to meet state and federal regulations.
- Certify that installations of Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) conform to EPA’s performance specifications or develop alternative continuous monitoring systems such as Predictive Emissions Monitoring Systems (PEMS).
- Assist with Environmental Justice Policy (EJP) and Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA) compliance requirements.
- Manage stormwater discharge monitoring and hazardous waste disposal.
- Liaise with subcontractors to relay requirements, ensure quality work, escalate issues, and enable timely project completion.
- Conduct research projects, write documentation, and prepare responses to requests for quotation (RFQ) and requests for proposal (RFP).
Essential Skills
- 3 years of experience in environmental engineering, compliance, and management.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of air regulations, monitoring techniques, and pollution control strategies.
- Experience with Air Permitting and Title V permits.
- Experience leading and managing staff or projects.
- Proficiency in air quality dispersion modeling.
- Valid US driver's license and willingness to travel.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or path to licensure.

Work Environment
The work schedule is from 8 AM to 5 PM with an hour for lunch. The role requires working in the office located in White Plains or at various job site locations. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $40.86/hr.
