Lawn, Garden, Tractor & Mower Service Technician
Job Type: Full-Time
Location: ACT Equipment – Oneonta, AL
Pay: $15-$30/hr. based on experience
Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and mechanically skilled Lawn, Garden, Tractor & Mower Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of outdoor power equipment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on mechanical work, problem-solving, and delivering quality service to customers.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair lawn mowers, zero-turn mowers, tractors, compact equipment, and other outdoor power equipment
- Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, blade sharpening, belt replacement, filters, and tune-ups
- Troubleshoot gas, diesel, and small engine systems
- Repair and service hydraulic, electrical, and drivetrain systems as needed
- Assemble new equipment and perform pre-delivery inspections
- Test equipment after repair to ensure proper operation
- Maintain accurate service records and work orders
- Communicate repair needs and timelines clearly with service advisors or customers
- Keep shop area clean, organized, and safe
- Follow all safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a small engine, mower, or tractor technician preferred
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
- Knowledge of gas and diesel engines
- Basic understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems
- Ability to read service manuals and wiring diagrams
- Must have own basic hand tools
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in a shop environment
Preferred Experience (Not Required)
- Experience with brands such as John Deere, Kubota, Toro, Exmark, Gravely, TYM, Wacker Neuson, Bad Boy, or similar
- Welding or fabrication experience
- Equipment assembly or dealership experience
