Company Description: ACS Manufacturing is a state-of-the-art design build manufacturer of acoustical equipment enclosures, fuel tanks, turbine systems and skids. ACS Manufacturing, Inc. has one of the largest facilities in the industry, nearly 300,000 square feet on 36 acres in Denison, Texas and has expanded its operation to 150,000 square feet facility in Abbeville, SC. and is now expanding its operations to a 325,000 Square foot facility in Clearfield Utah.
Job Summary: The Shop Department Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the production shop, with a specific focus on supervising welding personnel and processes. This role ensures that welding activities meet quality, safety, and production standards while supporting the development and performance of welders.
Job Responsibilities/Duties:
•
Supervise welding operations to ensure adherence to project specifications and timelines
•
Verify blueprint accuracy and ensure welders understand project requirements
•
Ensure welding quality and compliance with safety standards and company policies
•
Support training and development of welders to enhance skills and performance
•
Coordinate with Quality Assurance (QA) for inspections and verification of weld quality
•
Monitor welder performance and provide coaching or corrective actions as needed
•
Assist with preparing/maintain production workflow for day-to-day operations
•
Assist with planning and assign daily workload for all team resources
•
Verify daily and as needed all team resources are logged into the proper job number and operation
•
Establish priorities, monitor job progress, and resolve issues to ensure on-time delivery
•
Utilizes MES to ensure that all completed operations are logged into MES as complete
•
Report personnel issues to the appropriate management team.
•
Report issues regarding personnel or production directly to the Shop Manager
•
Maintain accurate attendance records by verifying all employees who have reported to work and notify Human Resources to report all unaccounted-for personnel
•
Assist the shop manager in training new and existing employees on all topics related to their specific job duties, including the company portal and ERP system.
•
Prepare employee performance reviews
•
Assist with coaching, counseling, and disciplining team resources.
•
Interview potential candidates and provide them with information regarding the position
•
Ensure that your department is maintained, clean and organized
•
Ensure proper job materials, supplies and tools are available for all team resources
•
Serves as Safety Team Member and ensures that all assigned personnel are following proper use of PPE, and the General Safety Rules of ACS and OSHA.
•
Will perform duties in a moral and ethical manner
•
Responsible for any other tasks that may arise, at any time
Work Environmental & Physical Demand:
•
May stand for long periods of up to 12 hours.
•
Must be able to lift, up to 50 lbs. repetitively, as well as frequent twisting and bending, to meet fast paced work demands
•
Work in various adverse conditions such as tight or enclosed spaces, heights, and extreme temperatures. May work inside or outside to complete work assignments. Position requires exposure to dust and dirt.
•
Follow safety standards in working with multiple services, tools, and equipment.
Minimum Requirements/Experience:
•
Must have a minimum of 1-year experience in a shop/production environment
•
3 years of welding experience with strong knowledge of welding techniques and materials
•
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
•
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
•
Knowledge of PPE use, and OSHA regulations
•
Must pass a drug screen and background check for employment

High School diploma or equivalent
