Position Description
We are seeking an Operator II to support the production of high-quality cardiovascular medical devices within a manufacturing cell. The position involves detailed assembly, machine/equipment operation, precision inspection, testing, packaging, and maintaining accurate production and quality documentation. The role may require working in a controlled cleanroom environment and handling small components using specialized tools and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Assemble medical devices and related components according to documented procedures.
- Operate various manufacturing equipment and machinery.
- Perform mechanical/electronic assembly, casting/coating, bonding, soldering, and packaging as required.
- Use microscopes, hand tools, syringes, razor blades, and other precision equipment.
- Perform visual inspections and precision measurements of components and assemblies.
- Conduct testing using computerized test equipment.
- Repair and correct devices/components using microscopes and applicable tools.
- Complete travelers, shop-floor paperwork, quality records, and electronic documentation accurately.
- Maintain product and component traceability throughout the manufacturing process.
- Clean tools and equipment according to established procedures.
- Follow safety procedures and properly dispose of hazardous waste materials.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary production environment.
- Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives.
- Identify production issues and notify the appropriate supervisor or lead.
- Monitor materials and notify the team when supplies need replenishment.
Skills Required
- Hands-on machine operation/manufacturing experience is critical.
- Ability to follow SOPs, work instructions, and standardized procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Good manual dexterity for handling small components.
- Ability to perform precision assembly and inspection.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Ability to use computers and electronic data collection systems.
- Ability to accurately complete manufacturing and quality documentation.
- Ability to prioritize tasks based on production requirements.
- Ability to make sound decisions with minimal supervision.
- Effective verbal and written communication in English.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.
Experience Required
- 2 years of manufacturing, machine operation, or production experience required.
- Previous experience operating manufacturing machinery/equipment is highly preferred.
- Medical device, pharmaceutical, biotech, or other regulated manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Cleanroom experience is preferred.
- Experience with microscopes, precision tools, soldering, adhesive bonding, computerized testing, or small-component assembly is highly desirable.
Education Required
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent education required.
