Immediate interviews are available, apply today!Shift Time: 06:00 AM – 2:30PM• Work performed in a shipyard, or depot environment with exposure to noise, grease/oil, confined spaces, and variable weather conditions.• Must be able to lift and move up to ~50 lbs routinely and greater weights with mechanical assistance.• Frequent standing, stooping, crawling, climbing ladders/scaffolding, and working at heights with fall-protection equipment as required.• May require shift work, extended hours, or travel to ship/contract sites and occasional overtime.Skills Required:• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude working with heavy mechanical assemblies, hydraulics, gear trains, bearings, and mechanical fastening systems.• Comfortable reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, and standard technical manuals. • Ability to use precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators) and perform basic dimensional inspections.• Strong safety mindset and ability to follow written procedures and work instructions.• Good communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to work as part of a cross-functional team.• U.S. citizenship or lawful status that permits eligibility for required government security clearance (if applicable).• Ability to pass background checks and drug screening.Experience Required:• Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on mechanical experience in automotive, heavy equipment, or industrial equipment.• Demonstrated ability to disassemble, repair, align, and reassemble complex mechanical or hydraulic assemblies.• Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical faults, and verifying system performance after overhaul.• Prior work in a depot, shipyard, defense, or aerospace maintenance environment strongly preferred.• Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical systems (reading schematics, performing pressure/leak checks, component replacement).• Experience using precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, torque wrenches, dial indicators) for mechanical inspection and alignment.• Proven ability to follow technical manuals, blueprints, and written procedures with strict adherence to quality and safety standards.• Experience maintaining documentation in accordance with DoD or ISO 9001 quality systems (work packages, QA records, tool control, etc.).• Comfortable working in industrial environments—shipboard, dockside, or shop—with hoists, rigging, and heavy components.• Previous exposure to naval weapons, turrets, or large rotating mechanical systems (e.g., MK 38, MK 45, CIWS, or similar) is a plus, but not required if strong mechanical background is demonstrated.Experience Preferred• Prior experience in naval or maritime maintenance, depot-level maintenance, or military weapons systems.• Experience with MK 38 or MK 45 systems, or similar naval gun or turret mechanical systems (preferred but not mandatory).• Forklift, crane/hoist, or rigging certification.• Welding or machinist familiarity (basic) is a plus.• Experience with maintenance information systems (CMMS) and electronic documentation.Education:• High school diploma or GED.
