As an Investor Accountant, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy of our investor trust accounts and supporting the month-end close process. Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily and monthly general ledger account and bank reconciliations for assigned P&I and T&I investor accounts.
- Maintain and follow procedures and controls within the monthly process to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Prepare timely and accurate daily investor deposit schedules, corporate advances, and analyses.
- Engage in process reviews and execute improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers, managers, and various teams to resolve investor account deposits.
- Conduct analytical research for transactions as needed.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Collaborate with Investor Reporting and Servicing to bridge gaps in the financial picture related to those accounts.
- Utilize advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and V Lookups.
- Provide general administrative and financial support as needed.
- Participate in special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.
- 1-3 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in servicing/investor accounting and the mortgage industry is highly desired.
- Proficiency in accounting software, preferably QuickBooks and/or Loan Vision.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent self-management and organizational abilities.
- Strong persuasive skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions and correspondence.
- Effective presentation skills for small group settings.
- Proficient in basic mathematical operations and capable of computing rates, ratios, and percentages.
- Ability to understand, book and reconcile gl transactions per GAAP standards
- Capable of applying common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving datasets and variables in standardized situations.
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- Frequently required to walk and sit; occasionally required to stand.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
