Compensation

  • Base salary of $90,000–$105,000 based on years of experience and demonstrated capability, plus performance-based bonuses. Total compensation expected in the $100,000–$125,000 range for strong performance.

As Senior Executive Assistant, you will work directly with Athena Simpson, founder of AcquiMatch, and be deeply embedded in the engine of the business during a pivotal stage of growth.


ABOUT THE ROLE


This is a senior Executive Assistant role designed for someone who has experience supporting executives to perform at their highest. You are someone who operates with judgment, speed, and precision.


You will work closely with Athena in a role that blends executive support, operational coordination, and personal logistics. Making sure nothing important gets missed, forgotten, delayed, or dropped so Athena can focus on driving the business forward.


This role requires someone who can hold a high volume of context, think several steps ahead, and execute quickly without creating chaos or clean-up. You must be comfortable making decisions, setting boundaries, and representing the founder with confidence.


Over time, this role is designed to grow into a Chief of Staff–style partnership for the right person.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING


Executive Support & Prioritization

  • Act as Athena’s right hand, operating with full context to keep her focused on the highest-impact work
  • Own calendar and inbox management end-to-end, including prioritization, sequencing, boundary-setting, and follow-through
  • Make real-time judgment calls about what requires Athena’s attention versus what can be handled, deferred, or redirected
  • Prepare Athena for meetings with context, materials, objectives, and clear next steps
  • Track decisions, commitments, and open loops across client, team, and external relationships


Communication & Representation

  • Draft, manage, and respond to communications in Athena’s voice with professionalism, warmth, and business fluency
  • Ensure consistency in tone, expectations, and follow-up across all communication
  • Maintain continuity across conversations so context is never lost as priorities shift
  • Represent Athena thoughtfully with clients, partners, and collaborators when appropriate


Team Support & Access

  • Create and maintain healthy access between Athena and the team
  • Ensure team members feel supported, informed, and unblocked without overwhelming the founder
  • Act as a connector and unblocker, not a bottleneck
  • Shift fluidly between finance, HR, operations, AI, client needs, and logistics


Systems, Detail & Follow-Through

  • Build and maintain systems to track priorities, follow-ups, and deliverables across a high-volume environment
  • Ensure nothing falls through the cracks, including small details with large downstream impact
  • Reduce repetition, rework, and clean-up through structure, documentation, and anticipation
  • Bring calm organization to days and weeks that change quickly


Health, Wellbeing & Sustainability

  • Treat Athena’s health, energy, and wellbeing as core inputs to performance as much as business needs
  • Protect time for gym sessions, movement, recovery, and wellness routines
  • Structure days and travel to support sustained focus and long-term effectiveness


Personal & Travel Logistics

  • Coordinate travel end-to-end, including flights, accommodations, itineraries, and preparation
  • Manage local logistics such as appointments, deliveries, and services to eliminate distraction
  • Handle personal details intentionally, always in service of momentum and focus


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Experience supporting senior executives across multiple business functions, including finance reviews, hiring and people operations, sales, marketing, and strategic planning
  • Comfort operating in high-context environments where priorities span multiple departments and change quickly
  • Ability to understand what matters in each function, track decisions and follow-ups, and keep work moving without needing to be the subject-matter expert
  • Proven ability to manage complexity without missing details
  • Strong judgment and comfort making decisions independently
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to shift contexts quickly while staying organized and composed
  • Systems-oriented mindset, not reliant on memory or reminders
  • High EQ, discretion, and strong boundary-setting skills
  • Ability and willingness to commute to New Braunfels several days per week
  • In-person collaboration is core to this role, including meetings, working sessions, gym sessions, and travel preparation
  • Additionally, willingness to travel outside of New Braunfels up to approximately 10-20% of the time

Athena Simpson is the founder of AcquiMatch and has over 25 years of experience as an entrepreneur, advisor, and high-performance expert across media, marketing, events, and strategic business operations. 


From launching her own businesses to mentoring and advising startups, Fortune 500, FTSE 100 companies, and government entities, and lecturing at The University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business, Athena has cultivated a deep understanding of business dynamics and growth potential.   


Her journey led her to acquire profitable businesses through her company, Unrestricted Ventures. Through her struggles to find businesses to buy, she started AcquiMatch, a personalized SMB acquisition search & match service within Unrestricted Ventures. 


Athena often says, "business is my love language," and she applies a matchmaker philosophy to business buying, helping clients find businesses that match their desires and build their own legacy.
