Role Description The mechanic role at Acker Drill Company is a full-time, on-site position based in Scranton, PA. The Mechanic will perform assembly and modification of parts when needed to ensure reliability of the equipment and quality of the fit and finish. Day-to-day tasks include following technical drawings to wire and plumb large engines, heavy equipment hydraulic systems and assemble large structural components utilizing overhead cranes, forklifts and other heavy equipment. The role also involves troubleshooting issues on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems. The mechanic will collaborate with engineering, production, and the sales teams to support custom equipment builds.
Qualifications
- Mechanically inclined with an ability to work on heavy equipment.
- Experience with maintenance & repair of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Ability to perform effective troubleshooting using technical documentation.
- Relevant technical training or job experience in a related field.
- Comfort working with hand tools, power tools, and heavy shop equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals and work orders.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.
- Trade school, apprenticeship and welding skills are a plus.
Pay: $24.75 - $28.03 per hour
