What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant Specialist/Payable position at ACHR?
Performs the entire accounting function for selected non-profit agency grants/contracts, with primary responsibility for production and maintenance of the general ledger and the grant trial balances and the reports derived from them. Works closely with CFO, keeping CFO appraised of progress and problems on a daily basis and keeping up with the changing focus of the most critical tasks at any given time. Able to and does Payroll and Personnel functions as needed.
Perform all GMS accounting functions that relate to position, learning and doing all routines and subroutines for data entry, posting and report writing. Reconcile all accounts in the general ledger as directed by the CFO.
Produce in-house fund balances at month's end. Produce budgets for assigned grants and contracts for review by CFO. Maintain all information relating to each grant and contract in orderly form.
Bachelor's degree in accounting/bookkeeping or related area and experience with same is required. Must be bondable. Proficiency in use of Excel, and Word; must be able to learn to use GMS software quickly and efficiently and to quickly learn other applicable software.
Criminal background check required.
