We are a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Individuals with Developmental Disabilities, by providing Vocational and Community Living Services. We have been serving Individuals with Developmental Disabilities in the San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties since 1957, when we first introduced our Vocational Training Program. In 2007, we partnered with NCI Affiliates, and while both agencies have their own identities, both have a single focus - promoting independence and inclusion for adults with intellectual and/or physical disabilities through vocational training, education and adaptive living skills programs, advocacy, and community living services.

Under the supervision of the Case Coordinator, the Employment Specialist is responsible for assigned case management provided in the Vocational Services Program. This position also provides on the job training and support to clients to ensure long term success in community employment. There are no supervisory responsibilities with this position.
Hours: Full Time, up to 40 hours, Mon- Frid, some weekends.
Pay: Expected start pay $24/hour (range is $24-26)
Driving is an essential function of this position. Computer/Tech skills are required.
Essential Duties Include:
- Provide individuals with continuous instructions for work specific to vocational growth and training objectives that guarantee and correspond with abilities and development.
Execute and monitor contract requirements to ensure quality of workmanship and customer expectations are being satisfied.
Job develop for clients and individual placement.
Communicate employer expectations to Job Coaches
Ensure employers are contacted on a monthly basis to discuss client and staff needs and performances.
Research of the labor market conditions to identify types of community-based jobs.
Maintain evaluations and analysis of the job placement market plan and work environment reports, maintain a development log.
Assess and clarify the personnel potential needs of employers and training required for those jobs.
Follow through with employer to ensure satisfaction of client and employer.
Must place two clients per quarter (if referral is available).
Participate in local events pertaining to employment.
Ensure company materials are current for distribution and marketing.
Conduct Job Preparation class; quarterly job club social.

Education / Experience:
A high school education or equivalent is required. Previous experience working with developmentally disabled adults preferred. Strong background in sales and/or customer service are preferred.
Qualifying Specifications:
- Must have own vehicle and maintain a current California drivers license.
- Must be able to provide on-going proof auto insurance.
- Must have an acceptable driving record as determined by criteria established by the Agencys insurance carrier.
- Must clear fingerprints through the California Department of Justice and FBI.
- The ability to successfully complete First Aid / CPR training is mandatory.
- Must have good time management and organizational skills.
- Must be comfortable with networking and community outreach.
- Must be able to navigate Microsoft, Word and Excel.
Offered compensation: $24/hr - $26/hr
