Role Description In this full-time, on-site role based in New Haven, CT, the High School Math Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering rigorous, standards-aligned math instruction to high school students. The teacher will design daily lessons, assessments, and activities that build conceptual understanding and procedural fluency in courses such as Algebra and other high school math subjects. Responsibilities include differentiating instruction, providing small-group and one-on-one support, and using data from quizzes, tests, and assignments to adjust teaching. The teacher will maintain a positive, structured classroom environment, communicate regularly with students, families, and colleagues, and participate in team meetings, professional development, and school events. Additional duties may include advising a group of students, supervising activities, and contributing to school-wide initiatives that promote equity and academic achievement.
Qualifications
- Strong content knowledge and instructional skills in Mathematics, including Algebra and other high school math subjects.
- Proficiency in Lesson Planning and curriculum implementation aligned to high school standards.
- Excellent Communication skills for engaging students, collaborating with colleagues, and partnering with families.
- Experience or demonstrated interest in working with middle school or high school students in diverse, urban, or underserved communities.
- Bachelor’s degree; appropriate state teaching certification or eligibility preferred.
